The world’s largest salt cavern compressed air energy storage project has completed the full start-up of its two 350-MW units in Changzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province, marking a breakthrough in the country’s core technologies and system integration capabilities in this field.
Dubbed a “super power bank,” the project can store up to 2.8 million kWh of electricity in a single cycle and is capable of around 330 charge–discharge cycles annually.
