America’s 5G band is part of US the military weapons and communication system. It seems that this will enable the US regime to control the “civilian” 5G system, access non-military communications data, and provide the ability to turn off 5G nation-wide at any time.
In August 2020 the US government announced it would redeploy spectrum currently used by the military towards commercialised 5G networks.The US regime’s Department of Defense said it would ensure commercial use of this critically-needed mid-band spectrum “does not compromise military preparedness or national security.”
The US military currently uses the mid-band spectrum for radar operations that support missile defence, counter mortar capabilities, weapons control, electronic warfare, air defence, and air traffic control.Under the new spectrum-sharing solution, the spectrum band will continue to be used by the department, but it will also be available for use by the private sector.
The US, in auctioning 5G bands for commercial use, is able to fund increased military spending.
Speculation has arisen in the US concerning military ownership of commercial 5G towers.
