PV Magazine reports that China’s Astronergy, the solar module unit of Chint Group, has announced plans to build a solar cell factory in Türkiye, investing at least $500 million. The facility will include a solar cell production line and an R&D and innovation center. It will produce locally manufactured solar cells, with at least 80% of output designated for export.
China’s Astronergy also invested in separate PV module factory in Türkiye, which reached at least 850 MW of production capacity as of March 2025.
Chint Group’s Astronergy was founded in 2006 and has installated more than 4,500MW of solar capacity in projects outside China to date.
