PV Magazine reports that Chinese solar-PV giant Trina Solar has introduced a 5 MWh liquid-cooled battery storage system across strategic regions including Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East & Africa.
The systems come in a standard cube container setup, measuring 6m x 2.9m x 2.4m and a weight of 36.5 tonnes. The batteries use liquid cooling and can work at ambient temperatures between -30 C and 55 C. They can also work at altitudes of up to 2,000 meters. Typical operational duration is 2 to 8 hours.
Trina said the storage system’s “compact side-by-side and back-to-back design significantly reduces footprint, addressing space constraints in urban and industrial environments”.
